DESCRIPTION:
EPW - English, marked on mvt, case and dial for retailer George Doty of Detroit, Michigan, lever fusee with start/stop slide, 53mm, heavy 14K gold (tested) original American made HC with eagle hallmark, rear with "Paul Stanley" engraved above a horse image, front with ornate foliate engraving detail surrounding an initialled central shield, white enamel SS dial, start/stop slide near 4, KWKS, table roller lever escapement, diamond endstone, jeweled to the center wheel and the fusee, at least 17J, gilt mvt with engraved foliate scrolled balance cock with unusual glazed viewing aperture, gilt locking dust-cap, s#12136 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 90.5 dwt (140.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, fusee not turning, chain is detached, gummy balance wheel, overhaul needed, start/stop slide function not tested due to NR condition, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright plates, few specks of oxide to steelwork, fine circular scratch surrounding set-up click; dial has scattered faint hls; fine hands; case shows very little wear, one small ding to rear shoulder near horse's tail, ding to band near 12, excellent engraving detail, case front lift spring is not making contact with lid through final small portion of opening range so that lid tilts a quarter of the way towards closed with gravity, mvt hinge with some side-to-side play; tight bow; good glass crystal.
